He was a fitness instructor at the JCC in Rochester, NY in the early 90’s. After graduating college, he spent his summers running basketball and sport camps. He was on the professional staff of the National Youth Sports Program for at risk youth in Rochester for several years. Coach Kelly instructed kids in weight lifting, football, basketball, soccer, baseball, and track and field, as well as golf and swimming. Kelly is a footwork and mechanics expert. He will improve your strength to complete an athletic movement with a higher degree of accuracy and success.  He will improve your posture, balance and overall performance utilizing a strength, speed and agility program that is progressive.House of Payne Personal Training since 2009.

 
  • Certified by the International Association of Fitness Sciences (IAFS).
  • Certified sports officials training instructor, Master Trainer with SOPTI.
  • Certified as an On-court Basketball Master Coach
  • Certified as Safe lifting and work methods Trainer at both UPS and FedEx.
  • Coach Kelly has over 30 years of training and athletic fitness experience.
  • Kelly played a year of college football at Baldwin Wallace College.
  • Graduated from Nazareth College of Rochester, where he earned duel degrees in Economics and Business and played 3 years of college basketball and golf.
 
He currently operates Footwork U which is a basketball fundamentals program for teaching kids proper footwork fundamentals and shooting technique. Coach teaches a combination of body control and basketball IQ utilizing moves and counter moves to score.  All his programming is designed to improve balance, and confidence through repetition of power moves and core exercises.

 

Coach Kelly is a scratch golfer using his golf training program coupled with diligent practice.  He is also a shooting expert on the basketball court.

Coach Kelly competed in eight different sports before the age of 10. His work ethic and philosophy is a combination of his athletic upbringing, (both his parents were college coaches) which instilled fitness, nutrition and excellence through hard work and persistence. He shares that message with the kids he coaches today.

 

Kelly has a passion for helping kids and adults achieve their fitness and athletic goals, from improving club head speed in golf or vertical leap on the courts.  He has a safety first mentality and utilizes his sports training for injury prevention programming that is designed to protect shoulders, hips and knees while improving performance.

Coach Kelly started Footwork U after working for 7 years as an Oncourt coach at Suwannee Sports Academy with Kevin Cantwell formally Bobby Crimmens long time assistant at Georgia Tech. He also worked with Bruce Critzer and Mark Price both who work as shooting coaches in the NBA. He Ran Camps Both Mark Price’s Shooting Camp and Theresa Edwards Gold medal Camp while there.
